                                           :: Band History ::

Well, this is infact the band history if you didn't guess it already. So read it!

So, the Flatliners started around the winter of 2004. It started off as Robbie and Mikey jamming at each others houses, then they decided it would be kind of fun to form a band. We then got ourselves a drummer called Pip, and a bass player called Matt Robb.

We were set, apart from one important aspect of the band....the singer. Enter Daniel. It was all a bit of fun at the beginning jamming in the practice rooms at lunch times, but then we realised that we weren't getting very far.

Then, on sunny afternoon in February, The Works came along to the school, and told us about all of these opportunities that we could have, such as recording, and playing gigs. We took this opportunity, and used it to our advantage. This was now our weekly band practice at Magnus on Wednesday nights. Each week, we got better and better, and heard about the Rock School in the summer.

Dave Brace (may the force be with you), was our mentor during he programme, and helped us go a long long way, to create our own music and rein act other bands songs to the best of our ability.

We practiced once a week working on our cover songs, and writing new ones. After doing the programme for around 4 months, we finally got the chance to play a gig at the end of our practices.

During the summer holidays, the Rock School began. We came to Magnus everyday for a week, and on the last day we played our gig.

But, there was one problem coming to gig week.....Robbie was on holiday! What shall we do? Ah ha! Monty to the rescue. The musical wonderland on legs. What can he play........EVERYTHING! So, he took Robbie's place and played rhythm guitar and the keyboard throughout the rock school.
The stage was set, and the show went down a treat. 2 sets was enough to blow peoples minds with our music ability.

Every band has their fall outs, and Flatliners is no exception. The amount of times we have argued about stupid little things are countless, but since 2006 had began, we have all got on a lot better, and the arguments are very minimalist.

2006

2006 has been a very good year for us, packed with many gigs, and laying down some new tracks that will be played at our gigs. We have now had a lot of experience doing gigs, but we still cant get enough of them. Flatliners don't know what it is that keeps them going, whether it is the love for the music, or the reactions from the crowds each time we play, each gig is phenomenal.

We have had a very successful year, and we hope that it continues during recording and gigging over the next few years.

Most recently, Matt Robb left the band due to unforeseen circumstances. As a result of this, Daniel Padgett will now be our bassist. After playing 3 gigs with Flatliners, he is settling in nicely, and we can see his position being permanent.

Flatliners are very busy at the moment. We have allot of gigs and opportunities coming up! Keep looking out on this site for updates and other exciting information.
